Athens, The Parthenon

Alexandria Illa
The city of Athens is home to many historical land marks, one historical land mark in the city is the Parthenon. The Parthenon is a former temple on the Athenian Acropolis dedicated to the Goddess Athena. Construction of the Parthenon began in 447 BC, when Athens was at it highest power, it was then completed in 448 BC.There is no exact person on who built the structure , all we know is that the Athenians were the ones who constructed this monument. The Parthenon was built to worship the goddess Athena. The base of the Parthenon is about 23,805 feet. The Parthenon 46 columns were 34 ft tall. Its decorative sculptures are considered high points of the Greek art. This structure is considered to be one of the worlds greatest cultural monuments. It is a rectangular structure. Each entrance has an additional six columns in front of it. As I mentioned before the only famous person really mentioned is the goddess Athena.
